This website is authored by a real person raised in the US Pacific Northwest near Seattle. He was educated in the natural sciences and is fascinated by the natural world. He has no beliefs in a supernatural world. He values learning from people of other places and times. He's horrified by people with misguided and craven motivations, and he sees that group growing in the world.
Chasse-diable is a French name for a medicinal herb, Hypericum perforatum. There are many other names for the herb including Saint John's Wort or Johanneskraut. The French name can be translated as "devil hunter" or "hunt the devil". I like that name because "hunt" is an active verb and the action is aimed at bad actors.
