The train from Shanghai Pudong Airport into the city itself was a bold and innovative investment in modern transport. It was the first high-speed maglev railway: it floats above its track and is propelled by a magnetic field, traversing the distance from the airport to Longyang station in 8 minutes.
To board this train is to feel like you're stepping into the future.
